7 years ago today, my Mama had her last round of chemo

There will never be enough words in this world to properly express my gratitude to fate and the universe for letting me keep her. I wasn’t done learning from her, loving her, or being loved by her at 15, and I’m still not at 22.

She is my hero, my strength, my compassion, my humility. I am the product of someone who is capable of defying the odds multiple times in life, and still manages to get through it all with a smile.

She is my heartbeat, and I’m so grateful for the fact that I will never know what it was like to grow up without one.

“What’s the difference?” I asked him. “Between the love of your life, and your soulmate?”

“One is a choice, and one is not.”
